The Double Back Flip of Desire

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Travis Pastrana pulled another double back flip today at the x-games. It’s incredible the limits that FMX has progressed too. In order to compete on this level, you must burn the bridges of everything that might hold yourself back and give it your all. “When a man really DESIRES a thing so deeply that he is willing to stake his entire future in a single turn of the wheel in order to get it, he is sure to win.” (Napoleon Hill). We can all learn from this passion to be the best and apply to what we desire in life.

Graham Gustin and Eric Woods were just a couple of the freestyle motocross riders that participated in the arena at the Orange County Fair, August 2, 2009. In between the jumping, the mini bikes were whipped out and chaos mingled around the area for about a half hour.

Surf & Skate: $100,000 prizes?!

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

What’s going on the the Orange County contests this summer? What ever it is, i like it.  There has never been this much money given away for first place prizes in a matter of a few weeks for skate or surf.

Last weekend was the Maloof Money skateboarding championship where Chirs Cole won the $100,000 first place prize and this weekend Hurley will sponsor the US Open of Surfing and give away a $100,000 first place prize during the 9 day event. According to surfline.com, “The unprecedented infusion of prize money is certain to boost the intensity level across the entire world-class field and make the competition more difficult for America ‘s top-rated WQS campaigners Tanner Gudasukas (#6), Brett Simpson (#7), Patrick Gudauskas (#10), Austin Ware (#11) and Nathan Yeomans (#23). In addition to the former World and U.S. Open champions, also standing in their way are prominent surfers Chris Ward, Taylor Knox, Fred Pattacchia, Damien Hobgood and Adriano de Souza among others.” There is also a building swell that is rumored to arrive this weekend. With the swell, surfers and grand prize, this year should be the most competive year to date for the U.S. Open’s history.
